Re-applying for credit cards

in Credit cards
I recently defaulted on my credit cards through work and personal reasons. I managed to get a loan with Welcome Finance and managed to almost pay off all my arrears. However, I would still like to have one credit card but I am unsure whether applying so soon after paying them off would do more bad than good. I lived abroad for many years and on returning to the UK it was as if I had no credit history. I therefore applied for a Capital 1 visa card and to my surprise was accepted. I was then daft enough to apply for more cards (while managing minimum payments on the other). They were Vanquis and Aqua, both with scandalous APRS. I now have no cards other than my debit card. Should I apply again or leave it a few months? I am worried about making my credit file even worse than it probably is. Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.

Is there a reason why you really want a credit card?
Applying just to improve your credit rating is a no brainer IMO judging by your past performance.
If you can manage with a debit card - leave it at that for now.0 -
Gallego,
Im sorry to say this Gallego but some people should not have credit. You are one of those people.
Capital One and Vanquis are the last chance saloon of credit. You have missed this chance now so you will be declined for most things. Your credit rating will be ripped to shreads!
In this case the credit score system is doing it job and you will find it very very hard to obtain anything. Thats a good thing as you realy need to think about learning how credit works. If you continue to tread this path you'll be BR or on a CCCS scheme in a year or two.0
