MyHermes .. A nightmare .. can not contact them

I sent an item a few days ago having printed off the label at my local drop-off point.
The recipient emailed me yesterday to say that it had not been delivered. I provided a tracking number but according to the website three attempts had been made to deliver the item, but no card or whatever was left, perhap[s to arrange a suitable time.
Today the parcel has been returned to me.
I tried to contact MyHermes on the number provided online (0330 808 5456) to ask why and all I can get is an automated system .. saying the parcel has been delivered. (yes, to me !!)
Is there a number to speak to real person .. I googled this and the number 0330 333 6556 was shown which I tried .. An automated message says this number has been changed to the one I tried first.
Don't Hermes have a Customer Services department ?

no they don't buy you can amuse yourself with their chatbot if you have a free couple of hours0

Use the chat function on their website which is hidden away somewhere.0

If you phone you number you called again, after you put in the tracking number and it tells you it's been delivered, it says something like "is there anyone else I can help you with". A few options are said and the one you need to repeat back is something like "I would like to speak to someone". You then wait for someone. I rang yesterday at 2pm and got through to a person in 5 minutes but waiting times vary.0

It sounds as though they tried to deliver to the wrong address.
At least you got the parcel back. Just try again with a decent courier service.0 -
Yes use the chat function, its irritating and you might have to lie to bypass some of the automated rubbish but eventually you will be able to get your details passed through to a real person, social media may also get you a reply. Can't see how Hermes can help though as they tried to deliver 3 times, you only have your buyer's word they received no card (they might have buyer remorse). Unfortunately you should've contacted Hermes/your buyer at the first failed attempt to sort out the problem before it failed again. The only time I have problems with delivery is if its a flat complex, above a shop or similar, then its essential to track as most buyers fail to give essential delivery instructions. Use the tracking on Hermes site rather than Ebay as it might give you more clues to why it failed. Also google street map your delivery address before contacting Hermes as a close up of the property helps enormously in working out the failure. You may receive email invoices asking for the return postage cost but just ignore them as they don't follow up. As for your buyer, I'd refund and not post out to them again as you risk another failure.2
