Leaking asbestos garage roof - is this a silly idea for dry storage solution?

hi there our garage roof is leaking in various places where we have stupidly allowed virginia creeper to climb over the top and it has entered the garage.
My OH doesn't want to replace or cover the roof as there is some sort of micro ecosystem on there (don't ask) with assorted succulents etc.
In order to be able to store some patio furniture in there and as a relatively cheap compromise solution, I was looking at the possibility of erecting a cheap, smallish waterproof, gazebo type structure so that maybe a third to a half of the garage would have protecton from the leaks.
Is this a ridiculous idea and if not has anyone seen any that aren't too tall and don't come to a point as this would be impractical.
many thanks

If you can identify where the roof is leaking you could try applying self adhesive flashing to the underside.  Something like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/bostik-flashband-grey-10m-x-150mm/55009  Extend it  a few inches beyond the leak and it will probably do the job.

I did this with super sticky flashing tape and it has stood up reasonably well, it's starting to curl at the corners but it'll do until we can do something else.

thanks for your comments, will have a look.  it is leaking in a few places I think as there are probably also some cracks in the asbestos as well as where the climber has forced its way in

Bitumen sealant is pretty good, I used it on the joins in my corrugated asbestos roof.  Wind occasionally blew rain through.

Would the succulents on the garage roof include Sempervivums by any chance

An asbestos cement roof is not designed to take the weight of a living roof.  The cracks have probably been caused by the weight and more will appear.

hi I probably made it sound more grand than it is.  It's just basically where birds have dropped seeds and things have grown on the moss/soil debris that is up there lol!  I have just looked up Sempervivums and they are very pretty.  I think there may be a couple up there but we haven't actually planted anything ourselves, it's just 25 years of neglect basically!
