UK CAR PARK MANAGEMENT LIMITED - signs put up

Hi all,
I've just noticed UK Car Park Management Ltd have put up signs on our communal parking area. The parking areas is shared between two blocks of flats, and a couple of houses in between, all of which have the right to park in parking bays, and have shared access rights to the road leading to parking and the garages. No one seems to know why the signs have appeared...Additionally they certainly don't have the rights to pin the signs up on buildings that belong to the flat owners, who know nothing of UK CPM. Is this known practice for them to put signs up without permission?

You need to contact the managing agent and find out who authorised the contract between the flat owners and UKPCM.  You need to find out when the consultation took place in line with the landlord and tenant act and what the outcome of the vote was.

You could always cover the signs without damaging them. Got a ladder, a bin liner and gaffer tape?

Let's see who's patrolling the car park shall we?

There must be correspondence pertaining to this and the permits should in any case precede the signs by 7-14 days.

You MUST quickly get a message out to ALL the neighbours and get them to sign a letter like this one:

You have GOT to get UKCPM removed before they start and that thread talks you through exactly how.

Do it QUICKLY.  You are not accepting this, none of you.

Better than bin bags are a couple of spanners/screwdrivers. Remove the signs, lock them somewhere safe, and tell the scammers they are available for collection.

A lease cannot be varied without a ballot of all landlords and leaseholders in accordance with Section 37 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. There must be a majority in favour and the maximum number of votes against must not be exceeded as defined by the Act (the law) before any changes can be made.

Everyone should check their lease/AST/property rental agreement what it says about parking, permits, parking scammers, paying parking scammers, and court,  then give the MA or whoever employed the scammers a good hammering.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D
    All my screwdrivers are cordless.
