Better way to get PIN reminders

With all the current electronic solutions around, I'm amazed that no bank has started sending out e-PINS reminders.
Send PIN as encrypted PDF to email
Text unlock code to phone
Simple
We did this for medical info years back, zipped & encrypted records by email, encrypt code as two partial texts, so three messages needed intercepting to decrypt data

Most people who forget pins tend to be elderly.

Encrypted pdf , too complicated for them

Text is insecure and can be spoofed.

    View with app is simple

If someone can intercept a text message then they can intercept two text messages.

They don't need to as many allow you to view your PIN online or via their app which has much better security than a text

What a load of faff.  My banks allow you to view your PIN in their apps and it's dead easy, so why should anybody want a complicated system like the one you've described?

I think you're overthinking a solution to a problem which isn't really there.
