My assessment is in the next 10 days or so, so I imagine it's a little late to keep some receipts however there's plenty of medical info available for my wife and her illness plus meds she's on and how it affects her, from the Dr, should it be required.
  • Depends where you get them from too @SauntonD - I get a lot of my cleaning stuff in bulk from hotel suppliers etc where it's all ordered online so there's a written trail. Might be worth digging out anything you can in that respect. (And remember it's all gone up in price since March 2020).

I'd be happy to take pictures of my cleaning cupboard too as it overflows most mornings,  along with the storage in the shed!

Just a little update and thank you.  I had my IPA assessment yesterday and after some scrutiny and providing further info, it was declared I currently don't have sufficient surplus to spare to pay.  The assessor was most helpful, and I was rather nervous, she asked financial questions I wasn't aware of, that I had not noted, once answered there was extra allowance added for me in the statement. Certain thresholds were breached, which I was advised of, and the amount allowed.  After providing evidence of issues, it became apparent an IPA would cause a greater financial burden, so was not placed in that criteria.  It is a huge relief as I was so anxious about it.
Had it not been for those that assisted me I wouldn't have had any real clue what I was facing, so a heartfelt thank you to those that assisted me.

Thanks very much. I provided documentation such as statements and payslips.  Once they had seen my incoming and  knew of the mitigating issues, it was OK. No further evidence was necessary. Took a few emails back and forth but a very thankful cap on it all.

Just noticed the £18 for your meds, it maybe its for more than one person but if its just your wife you should get Pre payment card, its £10.40 per month for ten months and covers all prescriptions for 12 months, great saving for anyone that has more than one regular prescription.

  • Hi SauntonD how long did you wait after being declared bankrupt for you interview regarding a IPA and discussion of your income and outgoings. Me and my husband where both declared on 8th of this month I know it's only been a week but I suffer with mental health and health conditions and its got me so worried wondering when ours will be. OR rang my husband two days after our bankruptcies was agreed he just asked a few questions about information on our application and told him we was both only a standard 12 month bankruptcy. My husband asked if we had a IPA to set up and he said the other department deal with that and to await contact from them.  Just wondered if you had a time scale that I can go off to put my mind at ease. So glad things worked out for you. Thank you

Currently in an IPA myself, it was roughly 3 months before I heard form the company dealing with it on behalf of the OR.
  • Sorry, can you tell me how long after your IPA interview you made your first payment? Looking to set up the correct DD date after payday, many thanks
