Kitchen extension and saving costs

RE: fridge/freezer - we've currently got an American style fridge freezer so can't see us going back to tiddly 70/30 design. We're looking at full height built in separate fridge and freezer.

This is the design pretty much every place has come up with:

I've decided to spring extra for a quartz worktop as it's cheaper directly than through a kitchen supplier. The only issue we have is colour scheme - I want simplistic, lots of light. SWMBO keeps changing her mind - she's thought of: grey cupboards/dark blue island; all black with white countertops; all grey with white countertops; all gloss, or all matte - every week it's a different design!

Grey will look very dated within a year or two (if it isn't already) as fashion changes. Ignore fads and pick a colour scheme that you (SWIMBO) likes, and if anyone questions it, say you are setting the trend.
