Moving house...how to switch

Hi...im currently with avro for gas and electric on a fixed rate which finishes in July. I have just exchanged and due to move on Tuesday the 8th. Do I have to move this across to the new property until July? Any advice on what to do? For some reason I'm a tad confused. I usually do monthly meter readings.  Many thanks!

You can't move it across.  You need to tell Avro of the end date and give your new address.  They will send a final bill.  See the Ts & Cs for any exit fees, which won't apply in the last 49 days anyway.  Take meter photos, send meter readings to Avro on moving day, leave a note for the buyer saying that their supplier is Avro and that they must register with them immediately.
Read the meters at your new property, take photos and register with the incumbent supplier(s).  Only then can you switch to the suppliers(s) of your choice.  Guesstimate your annual kWh consumption, start comparing with Citizens Advice and 'Which? Switch' and compare total annual costs, not DD amounts.  Separate suppliers are probably cheaper, compare both.
If it's a flat with an external meter, do a meter sanity check to make sure it really is yours.  Switch everything off after dark, watch the red 1000 Imp/kWh light on the electricity meter for a few minutes and make sure it doesn't flash even once then switch on several high power appliances and check it's flashing crazily.  Similar for gas meter figures.  Make sure the serial number on each meter appears on the bills.

Some suppliers WILL allow you take your tariff with you. It may change slightly if you change DNO regions. That said, Gerry is correct. You have to contact your Deemed Supplier to open an account and then switch back to your previous supplier.
