Basically should I carry on paying off the defaults? and will they still chase me for the money even if I’m paying towards them now in there defaulted status after the 6 year period when it disappears?
thank you0 -

If you stop paying it now they have 6 years to pursue you for it through the courts.0 -
If you have a default, for example where the default date is 6 June 2015 (exactly six years ago today) but you're paying it off monthly ... does the default still drop off at that 6 year point, or does it remain for a further 6 years after you've made your last payment to settle?
Does it still disappear (from your file) if you are still making payments towards it?
I get that they can still get a CCJ after the 6 year period because you've made payments since that default date, but I'm just wondering about how the actual default and your continued payments towards it are reported after the default drop-off date.0 -

Your continued payments are no longer recorded, at least not on your credit file, but the creditor will still record this information internally, and make it available to you in the form of a statement.
Failure to keep up with payments could still result in legal action, as the fact the debt no longer shows on your file does not in itself preclude legal action.

Perfect, thanks. That's what I thought but one of the replies on here had me questioning it.
