HP Instant Ink question

I use HP instant ink on the lowest pricing plan which has been fine. But now I need to print about 500 pages and am wondering about the cheapest way to do it.
Thinking it might be best to purchase an ordinary HP black cartridge and use my printer off the plan. Will that work though? Does anyone know please?

probably, but you might find you need a standard colour in there too before it will print just black & white! Might still be cheaper, if it's a one off, to change to the 500 page plan for a month, then change back the next month. The new plan will only start from your next billing date though so you'll need to time it right, depending on when you ned to print the 500 pages.
I bought some cartridges to us like this and they dried up pretty quickly just being stored1 -

I would change my plan but it's just renewed so I'd have too long to wait. Thinking of other options like using a friend's printer.0 -
How about an online option - I've never used them but they look reasonable
