AA membership

If you allow your AA membership to renew you are likely to pay considerably more than if you let your membership lapse and took out a new membership.  Being a loyal member does not get you a better deal - quite the opposite: you will end up paying more.

The AA is not the old "Automobile Association", some kind of members club, any more. It ceased to be that in 1999, nearly a quarter of a century ago.

It was a PLC, a company listed on the stock exchange, owned by shareholders, until March when it was bought by two private equity investment firms. It made £105m profit on £1bn turnover in 2020.
    It doesn't have a "president".
It has a chairman and a chief executive.

That will come as news to Edmund King, who is still listed as president on the AA website.

Not entirely meaningless - I imagine he trousers a decent salary!
But yes, his role is mainly in the road safety/public policy area, which I imagine no-one on the business side of the company gives a **** about.
