SAR Loan Application From Nationwide means - nothing ....

Options
Hello
Im looking for some advice. I am currently complaining about old defaults and data which are not mine being on my credit report. ICO and FOS complaints made regarding Linked addresses. I have been told by a finance company that when a search takes place - the CRA gives your current address data - that is fine no missed payments, defaults, nothing negative at all. In fact till I get to entering my old addresses my online application are fine ... then I get a refusal (Halifax recently)
I realise that any errors must be taken up with the data supplier - the lender. Some success today managed to sort out some of the old defaulted accounts. These were defaulted and were never mine. Will take 28 days to remove ..
I made a loan application which was refused by Nationwide (December) - I completed an SAR asked for and got the loan application and supporting paperwork some of it is redacted.  It is both interesting and mysterious too. In fact it makes little sense to me there is so much of it all.
It contain various bits of data - can anyone help  me with this ?
Loan application is made up of many sheets - One states - Application - refused policy rule
Other comments include -
SID Referral Code RF01 DOB Inconsistencies (TSB altered my DOB to the wrong one).
RUU Referral Code DL13 High Risk Decline
Referral Code DO01 Adverse SP Bureau Decline
Referral Code DS01 Score too low Decline
Primary reason for decline "Credit score"
Please note the Nationwide gave me a credit card (2K) with a 2k overdraft ! (OD & CC  probably pay them well !!)
I read somewhere the CRA decide that you are HIGH RISK for the bank is that true ? the banks buy this decision process I have been told ...
I am trying to get a linked address from over 6 years removed as there is now no data on my file for that address. There is an old o2 default for £61 not mine - will this feature in the data provided by the CRA using the "linked address" reporting ?? if so how can I challenge that ... How long does a linked address realistically remain - it is apparent they use to highlight past issues. One page on the SAR pages states "app1_linked_next Electoral Roll (23) Im not sure what "23" means ? I have never lived at 23 locations in 57 years ...
I know the sold CRA scam scores are worthless ... I dont factor them .. according to them I m a great candidate for credit ! till I apply how many addresses do these people store ?? How long is a linked address kept for credit referencing even if there is no data present - what use is that ?? why are they so keen to do this ???
I would appreciate advice or comment and thank you ...
Take care ....

No. CRAs never determine risk. That's the lenders job.

Smaller lenders might ask a CRA to provide a risk score, but that is always against the lenders' own criteria.

Your low limit card suggests that NW see you as a higher risk customer.

You really need to drop this.

SAR'ing them was pointless, you were never going to get anything meaningful out of it.

They don't want to lend to you. That's all there is to it. Move on.

Edit:  Just to clarify what has caused you problems. There is a DOB inconsistency (not a massive problem) you have adverse data on your credit file (the defaults you mention) and it appears that internally you've scored too low which will be down to how you operate your accounts.  You might be able to fix the first two external issues, but the latter will take good account conduct for some months to repair, unless it's also an income issue which is much harder to fix.

In short, you're not getting a loan from them any time soon.

Thank you for your comments - DOB will fix when I can get into TSB Branch .... no  problem.
Im not really too bothered about the loan from Nationwide there are others that will always lend you. The card and OD limits are fine I would not want more. Just nonsensical Im simply trying to get my CRA file corrected - the defaults are not even mine (another story). Income is average, have savings £7.5k in Barclays ( I took it out of Nationwide looking to dump them when I can) I know their share price wont drop !.
Just daft they would give you a card an OD and refuse a loan ! Not really too fussed what their computers think of me personally. Its all silly you could be a millionaire or indeed a bank and be penniless tomorrow so risk is risk ...
    Thanks take care ...

Why is it daft?  There is always going to be a maximum amount of money that any company is willing to lend you, you may well be there already.  It may just be the way you've handled the credit they've already given you,  But as you have defaults on your credit file that will be the primary reason they've declined you I imagine.

Most mainstream lenders (particularly under current conditions) are not going to lend to people with adverse information.

Not really.   ODs are repayable on demand and more easily controlled.

Risk is risk but obviously not all risk is the same.

It is not silly at all, most risk is quantifiable, most millionaires to not end up penniless tomorrow etc. Their data will show that people who roughly align with your circumstances and behaviours have a tenancy to default on loans, so they will not lend to you.

I bet the majority of people who default on their loans were not millionaires the day before.

There is no need to be judgmental or need to be nasty .. thank you.
As I said the defaults are not mine they are small o2 defaults I have only had one o2 account I had that for 11 years 2005 - 2016 and closed that when I moved as the service signal was poor ... Getting telecoms defaults taken off are awkward as I am deemed to be the phone user by the insertion of the SIM card. I believe it was one of my stepchildren who opened the accounts. I had an account for 11 years so why would I destroy a relationship  like that ... 11 years then default ???. I dont use phones much I worked in a prison at the time the o2 phone I used wasnt used that much anyway - I wouldnt want two phones would I. Other accounts opened in my name not mine but getting this nonsense removed is not easy I asked for help that`s all - ICO and FOS helping hopefully ...
The banks in 2008 were bailed by honest taxpayers - who would think a bank could go bust (the day before they did ?) ... risk is risk ... no one is far away from a crisis a car accident .. a fall or something ...
