Hi, I moved house on the 12th of may and had no mortgage to pay on my previous property, my solicitor still hasn't sent me the balance of the proceeds from my sale around £45k after all fees paid . It's now the 2nd of June should i be concerned, I'm told he's unwell at present but he's not the only solicitor at the practice, could no one else deal with it?

Have you asked?0

Often the actual payment is handled by someone in the accounts department. It may have been overlooked, so give them a call and see what they say.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

I would chase this immediately. My remaining funds were in my account on the day of completion.0

Yes the funds should be with you on the day of (or latest day after) completion.
Call them, and if you don't get immediate payment ask to follow their complaints procedure.1 -
Yes, somebody else can and should deal with it. Just ask them, if you haven't already.1

My funds were in my account on the day of completion too. This sounds urgent. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks everyone, I spoke with the legal sec who will speak with my solicitor tomorrow, they are a small but normally good firm. I know they have paid the estate agents already. I have made it clear I want my cash and that it's well overdue.0
