I painted some old chest of drawers which were really old, but super quality.
They now look very good, but the drawers are very stiff to open..... This is probably because I had to paint inside a bit to not show the original wood colour when it's closed or slightly open. Is there anything I can put on the wooden runner bit to loosen it up again?

If it isn't too much then a bar of soap rubbed along them and the appropriate part of the unit itself may help.1

I find that candle wax works well on wooden furniture. An ordinary cheap paraffin wax candle will do.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
Any wax based furniture polish1

Thanks all!!! I initially tried soap and this works quite well! If it dries up I will try wax next.0

Bought new drawer runners but they’re not deep enough so the drawers slip out of the runners!
Need to buy some deeper ones so it’s cost me twice. 🤦♀️0
