Help! Been stung by a Used Car Dealer - what do I do?

You could reasonably expect a 2008 car with 100k miles to be fine - I recently bought a 2008 Golf with 148k miles and everything works as it should. Starts, runs and sounds as it should and doesn’t leak. One could reasonably expect the same of a car being sold by a dealer - don’t let the “it’s too be expected on a car if that age and mileage” put you off rejecting it, or at least trying.

The average age of a car at scrapping in the UK is just under 14yrs old. A 2008 car is 13yrs old.
The average mileage of a car at scrapping in the UK is 106k.
