  • ah apologies, we cancelled in May 2021 not 2020 when it became apparent that we were stuffed however the cards fell. The options became:
    • cancel at £1600 (that we could fight)
    • pay £600 for tests/quarantine and have a lower standard holiday
    • move the holiday at an additional cost of £1000

    You booked Jan 2019
    You moved it Mar 2020
    You cancelled it May 2020
    Holiday was for June 2021

    Is this correct ??

What is the significant change that led to you cancelling ?
requirements for mask, bookings for meals and pool times, removal of a number of activities and entertainment (including kids clubs) and reduced service/options for the all inclusive.
    These two are irrelevant:
    • Requirements for mask
    • Bookings for meals and pool times
Masks will be required due to a change in local law and under normal circumstances it's likely if there's no booking for meals/use of the pool then there could be occasions when you are told it's at maximum capacity and you need to come back later.

    These two need clarification:
    • removal of a number of activities and entertainment (including kids clubs)
    • reduced service/options for the all inclusive
If you mean there's no buffet/self-service facilities but you can still get the same food and drink served by a member of staff then that's not relevant.  Even reduced hours for serving drinks may not be valid grounds for a significant change.

With regards to things like kids clubs it'll depend what the change is and what you were told by TUI prior to booking.  If they didn't say kids clubs run every day but the hotel website did and now they say kids clubs only operate on certain days then that doesn't really invalidate your contract with TUI.  If you have an email from a TUI member of staff or something was on the TUI website at the time of booking then it's a different matter.

The other thing to consider is did TUI offer you anything to compensate for the changes? If all inclusive no longer includes lunch but they give you vouchers/compensation so you can buy it from a cafe across the road instead then I would say that is a suitable remedy.
