Out of curiosity more than anything else, what is this white thing near my roof line?

If it's unnecessary I'll remove it probably when repainting, otherwise it would just be nice to know what it is.
You can see the black telephone drop wire to the right, so it might be related.

It's from when power came to your house via overhead wires. Assuming there are no wires attached to it you can remove it.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.2

It's from the old phone line rather than power line.
