HALIFAX keeps doing hard searches after years.

Options
HI There
Hope you are all well.
We applied for a mortgage in 2019 pre covid, we got a AIP but eventually we pulled out due to the uncertainty with jobs.
Anyway Halifax searched my account again in Sep 2020 and again in Feb 2021. I have not got anything with Halifax, haven't got a loan either. Nothing at all but they still snooping about unauthorised.
How do i stop them from doing so as it looks like i applied for several things and affected my credit score?

Thanks
BwO

Why don't you ring the Halifax and ask then why they are searching your file.

This could be some sort of fraud being carried out using your name so it is important that you get to the bottom of it quickly.
  • Your credit "score" is meaningless, no-one ever sees it nor do they use it for judgement on things like a mortgage. Soft searches do not appear to other lenders and have no impact on your credit history.
