Premium bonds prizes

I have £25000 in premium bonds and up until this year have usually won at least £25 every month. I realise wins aren't guaranteed and the prize fund has been reduced but have now gone 6 months without a win! Seems a coincidence since I contacted them in December to arrange for wins to be paid direct to bank - hope nothing has happened to my account?

There's a 1.29% chance of no wins from £25K over six months, so unlucky but not suspiciously so, and certainly unrelated to payment instructions!
  • Also it was December that the headline rate dropped from 1.4% to 1% so would explain moreso a drop in winnings

I've 50k, so has my wife and my children have £30k between them, none of us won anything this month!
Twice this year I've not won, my wife once.

With a £50K holding, you'd expect to win nothing roughly one month in four, but winning nothing from a total of £80K is only about a one in ten shot.

I'm sure you're right, it is a coincidence, but you can go on and check to make sure there were no wins rather than there were but the issue was the payment didn't get sent through.
The bad news is, you are equally as likely not to win this month as you were last  :D

I was suggested to start buying premium bonds by my girlfriend who has £5k worth of bonds for over 3 years but has never won anything. I invested my first £100 in dec.20, and won £50 lastmonth  was so estatic cos i've never won anything in my life..
