Samsung Fridge Freezer Warranty

Hello, our Samsung American Style fridge freezer broke over the weekend (fridge not keeping cool, but freezer working) and as we have now moved abroad, Samsung UK will not honor the 24month warranty. Even though there is a Samsung shop in this country (EU). Has anyone else found this out and did you manage to get it fixed or pay for the repair yourself? This is very frustrating as Samsung is a global firm, but clearly not in the warranty sense.
Thank you

As above, contact Samsung in your country and see if they'll help.
It makes sense that warranties aren't portable across countries, though. Different countries have different consumer rights laws, and a manufacturer will probably want to tailor their warranty terms considering each country's laws and the residents' statutory rights. They will also consider the availability of service technicians and parts, which will differ from country to country.0 -
Even if you were in the UK,getting Samsung to do a repair under warranty can be a problem.

Yes, we contacted Samsung here and they will charge us for repair. I understand the difference in countries and warranties, but you don't expect a fridge of this type to break after 14 months. Not going to lie, but we will not be using Samsung again.
Thanks for the replies.
