How do I cancel an active MSE Energy club switching process?
I have an MSE Energy club switching process in progress but need to cancel it. Igloo, who I started the switch to, have informed me by email they are unable to supply my Dual fuel needs at the prices quoted through MSE Energy club Comparison. Also, Igloo have not disclosed how much more they intend to charge either. I have called Igloo to cancel the switch and they have given me a reference number and an Email confirmation of the cancelation of the switching process.
However, after revisiting MSE to obtain a new comparison, it looks as though MSE Energy club still think I am proceeding with switching to Igloo and I can't choose another company from any new comparisons I make through the Energy club. I have sent messages to MSE support but have not had any response.
Should I ask Igloo to inform MSE to also cancel the switching process?

Uncertain as to where you are in the switching process, have you tried contacting your existing supplier and asking them to block/cancel the switch?.
Stop using MSE CEC or any switching services,do comparisons using Citizens Advice or Which and double check any claimed savings quoted actually do add up.
Good luck, hope you get the result you want.2 -
You don't need to inform MSE, they wouldn't do anything even if you did.
Do inform your current supplier though as they can block the switch from their end.
Then use a decent comparison site like Which? or Citizens advice to search again. MSE Energy Club is average at best.2 -
You need to contract the new supplier in writing. If the cancellation is received after the 14 day cooling off period, then provided it was sent prior to the end of the cooling off period it still has to be actioned even if this requires a transfer back to your old supplier. Ask for cancellation confirmation in writing.
Note, as there is a switch in progress, you may to wait for about 10 days before you can initiate another switch.
