Hi. We are a family of five (3 kids ages 15, 13 & 10 )and will be spending 4 nights in Rome from 21 Aug. Can anyone recommend decent accommodation at a fair price? We would like to be central to the tourist sights and be in a safe area.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful.

I do not know anything about it, but my friend who booked it has great record in finding the right place at the right price. I imagine August will be a tricky month for finding something in the right price range0 -
look at the rome pages on trip advisor.com, there's information on lots of apartment agencies. We used https://www.sleepinitaly.com and got a 2 bedroomed apartment with a couple of extra fold up beds for 120 euros a night. It wasn't luxurious but it was adequate, near the metro and about 7 minutes walk from the Colloseum...useful when there was a transport strike.0

Thanks jaymac... I've had a couple of quotes from them and they seem quite reasonable.
I've also had some info from https://www.rentalinrome.com and they have some interesting apartments too!
Which one did you go for in the end? and how many rooms did it have?
Missus says she'd like a terrace too! More expense I guess!!0 -
Didn't get a terrace but we did have two doors which opened out on to a tiny balcony. We stayed in Via Cavour with 2 large bedrooms and a living room. We moved a folding bed into the living room and used it as an extra bedroom. Small kitchen area was part of the large hallway but main problem was being on third floor with no lift ( 77 steps) and being on a main street meant it was noisy at night...take ear plugs! We also looked at rentalinrome, some nice properties. Next time I think I want to be near the Fiori market place but Via Cavour was a good location for that trip. If you need transport from the airport I can recommend a good driver.0
