I booked a package holiday with Lastminute a few months ago. I've noticed that the flights I'd been booked onto have been cancelled by easyJet but still no update from Lastminute.

If the flights already been cancelled will I be entitled to a refund? I have the option to cancel my package but wasn't sure if I did that before hearing from them it may invalidate my ability to get refunded.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

when are you due to travel? I would wait for Lastminute to contact you to either advise of alternative flights or they cancel your holiday....be wary of cancelling before they do

Supposed to be 13th June I fly to Lanzarote but don't think any airlines going there.

I don't want to cancel before they get in touch but don't know how long to leave it.

What on earth possessed you to make a new booking with them only a few month's ago ?
Are you au fait with their performance during the pandemic ?
If your Flights have been cancelled and you have a package this on it's own is enough for you to cancel and ask for a full refund.
When they prevaricate and fail to refund within 14Days hit them with a chargeback.
This is exactly what happened to me last year with LM. I had a USA Package booked and as soon as the Flights were cancelled I asked for a refund . When they failed to cough up I issued a successful charge back claim.

Well of course I wouldn't have booked had I known of their poor record in regards to refunds. Guess I'm lucky I paid by PayPal.

I'll message them and let them deal with it 🙂

You've possibly paid in the worst way possible, a CC would offer the best protection, DC slightly less, you've put yourself at the mercy of a private company that can be extremely hit and miss with regards to a refund, not well established merchant rules.

Lastminute.com could find you alternative flights to let your package continue...

But you don't have to accept them and can cancel the Package and should receive a full refund within 14 Days.
There is very little chance LM.com would pay for you to transfer from Easyjet to British Airways if it involves extra expense for themselves.
In my case they did nothing and I had to be proactive to secure a refund.

    Quick update regarding this.
Advised PayPal of the situation and they're currently investigating it, hoping to get me a resolution before 13th June.

If they decide in favour of Lastminute, or Lastminute refuse to pay a refund, who would I then need to take it up with?
