New porch gutter overhangs neighbours drive

Unusually my problem is with our extension. We've built a small internal porch at the front of our terraced house. But our builder for some reason has gone right up to the boundary with the wall (not a problem) but the guttering and a small amount of the roof overhang the neighbours. Their landlord is obviously not happy about that. I'm not sure what we can do about it now its built. Its maybe 3inches. The gutter (as agreed with the neighbours landlord) is a merged on with the small shelter roof they have above their door so that instead of going to a soak away (as it currently does) their porch rain water now goes into the mains with ours. 
What can we do to make him less unhappy about it?!

    Was your builder working off proper drawings that show the wall inside the boundary so there’d be no overhang? If so, it’s your builder’s mistake and he should rebuild the porch correctly. 

    If it didn’t require planning (not sure that’s possible for a structure at the front of a house?) then and you gave the builder a description and didn’t tell him exactly where to build it, it’s your fault and you’ll need to pay for the wall to be moved. 

    If the latter, you could try offering the neighbour compensation instead which would be less hassle for you. Don’t be surprised if they refuse though.

    Porches up to a certain size (I think 3sqm?) are allowed under permitted development

    I think that depends on the building live, especially with a terrace that could be close to a pathway/road with no front drive/garden.
