Skipton building society application

  • Case manager contacted us on Tuesday and asked for some more forms to be completed. It was a direct debit form for skipton and an extra month business bank statement. She told us when we sent them over that we likely won't hear back anything until the 18th June.... waaahh. I'm hoping this is not the case and hoping we hear at least something back sooner.

@unicorn2809 Is this a direct application?
I only have two pipeline cases with them but afaik their intermediary team is actually picking up follow up responses and documentation in a couple of days currently. They were very busy a few weeks ago when their 95% product was super competitive but not anymore as far as I can tell.

Thanks thats reassuring. Our application is through a broker. We did get a aip direct but decided to use broker in the end as we self employed and case a bit more complex than standard.
  • Mortgage offer received yesterday from skipton! Relieved is an understatement 😌

For any lurkers interested to know, our direct application was underwritten yesterday, which is 13 working days after submission. Seems to have gone through with no additional info requested, if that’s what “accepted” means, I guess it does!

We sent one payslip, one bank statement, plus evidence of retirement income. That’s for two PAYE workers, one who’ll be 71 at the end of the mortgage.

Still waiting on the valuation. It appears they’re having trouble arranging access. Hopefully the EA can help sort that. Final hurdle! 🤞
  • We have also just have a decline from skipton when our Experian reports are pretty good. We do have 1 default from 5 years ago yet we met the criteria on skipton for it to not affect us or be taken into account. Completely mind boggled by it.
