Gift Aid

This Christmas our office has decided to ask staff not to send out card to either other companies or each other. Instead we will send an e-card and donate the amount we would have spent to charity. For the staff this will be deducted from the Payroll. How can I gift aid a donation such as this?

I can't answer your question but just wanted say bravo to your company. I suggested the same at my workplace but unfortunately if fell on deaf ears

if it's being taken out of your payroll, and your company has it set up then there's a strong possibility that it'll come out in the same way as payroll giving - so it comes out of your pay before tax.

That's the first thing to ask your company - and if not, then come on back, and I'll answer something else!
