How to soundproof walls?

  • I'm posting in this thread so I can read it later on as I have a big interest in this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI2bdQZWyOE What's folks in the know view on that product?

Our neighbours are quite loud. When I say our neighbours, it's mainly her. When they have say 10 people round you can still hear her clearly above them all & they've had some round who seem pretty loud themselves.

They have their TV attached to the party wall on a moveable arm which I imagine doesn't help and we're all on suspended timber floors with a 1mtr void beneath which I imagine also doesn't help.

    1930s house too.

And don't even get me started on upstairs. That's even worse. If we're in the bedroom it sounds even worse there than if we are in the living room.

If I knew when buying the house what I know now about all this (came from a detached house, never lived in a semi or terrace) then I would've never bought a house where living rooms/bedrooms join. I'd have looked for one where the stairs & bathrooms join. I'd rather hear an occasional plop-plop while i'm having a shower than their constant noise.
