Hi

I had posted in the Octopus Energy review thread but there are a lot of posts in their so my comments may get lost in there

Basically I received an email this morning stating "
We thought you should know that on 1st June 2021, you'll reach the end of your fixed term, and automatically moved to Flexible Octopus: our always great value variable tariff.

Our prices have been adjusted recently to account for the latest changes in wholesale costs.

Now, I signed up to a 12 month fixed term contract only at the end of Jan 21 but the electric part of the contract is ending but not the gas part (it goes onto 06/02/22)

And I also appear to have a rather large sum in credit for such a short period (just over 4 months) at a time when you would expect high usage. All seems a bit odd to me

Thanks

Steve

Have you been providing regular meter readings. Octopus only bill when you send in meter readings. It could be that your credit isn’t including your actual usage.

also, it would seem bizarre about the end of your fixed term after 4 months. I would call them to check this wasn’t an error.

I had missed last month`s reading, just provided a reading and that sum has come down a fair bit.

I am also aware that I am not the only one to have received that email so I think the problem is at their end. I have fired them off an email so will report back when they do

Might bet better to just call them tomorrow. They are currently pretty slow at responding to email, if at all sometimes.

Ha, just checked and they have got back to me to say it was a system error

That is pretty quick, I only emailed them about 40 mins ago!
