Is Personal Accident Insurance still a thing?
A few years back we had such a joint policy and although I never claimed on it, just before our product was withdrawn, my wife tripped & fell breaking her arm about 10 weeks before we were due to go on holiday. It paid out almost £1800 for a broken wrist which was a nice little boost as she was on a break from her occupation at the time to help with family childcare.
As mentioned, our product was withdrawn by the company - nothing to do with our claim, it was a decision they'd made about 9 months earlier to stop that particular type of policy - and I didn't bother looking around for another policy.
In November I came off my bike and broke a small bone that may not have been claimable (collision with a small badger! and I was only off work a few weeks) then 6 weeks ago, come off another bike (coming downhill on a mountain bike) and properly broken my wrist with another 6 weeks of healing to go.
I've got full wages on sickpay so I'll not starve.
I've quickly looked on internet and I don't see anything immediately obvious - the links seem to lead to Life Insurance or something more like business insurance for their staff.

Personal Accident is still a thing but it’s more commonly part of another policy (eg most car insurance has a PA section)
Compare the market however will give quotes for standalone PA cover.1 -
