Smart Meter Readings

Fifth Anniversary 10 Posts Name Dropper
As part of my switch to a different energy company, I have to have a smart meter fitted.
I have the option of half hourly readings, daily readings or monthly readings. Could anyone please advise if there is a "better" one to go for or is there no difference?

    I guess it depends on how much metadata you want to give them regarding your usage. I opted for daily for the time being but you can change it whenever you like.

    Thanks for the help. I didn't realise you could make a change, it was something I was asked when I booked the installation slot.

    The industry is moving towards time of use tariffs. Future price comparisons will be based on your profiled usage not kWhs/year. The more history you have the better. This is typical of what your supplier should be able to provide on a 30 minute usage profile:
