Been with bank for ever.excellent credit score.A1 category they said
No job/income.
On phone the guy ended application as knew I would be refused, ended the "recording" of call
Advised to apply on line and "bend" the truth about job/income as online applications only check figures add up and not if your telling truth about having a job.
Anyone had a similar experience?

It is shocking that a bank employee would advise a customer to commit fraud.
Maybe follow the banks complaints process to report them (it's not going to get you a loan with no job/income...but taking their 'advice' could result in fraud markers and impact your future)0 -
Not sure his intention was for me to be fraudulent, financial income easily covers the loan,i just don't have a "proper" job.
He was only trying to help, between the lines suggesting I "use the system".
Similar to car insurance,if I'm a decoratering its higher,if I'm a interior designer it's lower,blurred lines.1 -
You have no job but you have an income. What is the source of the income?
Better to obtain a loan from a lender that accepts the income truthfully declared than via your own incorrect statement which could backfire substantially.
Have you tried approaching a broker?0 -

What i meant by that is no income as they would see it,meaning a regular job.0

So when Martin Lewis suggests changing your job description to get a lower insurance premium,is he encouraging fraud?
Obviously not as a job can have many titles.
So I think this guy was just trying to help in a similar way,he wasn't and I wouldn't say I have a job if I didn't its just a matter of proving income and whats accepted.
So telling guy on phone and get a refusal and applying online and slightly different wording to get a better chance of acceptance because the online system uses a different way of deciding.
My initial query is that if anyone had a similar experience.
I've heard of refusal online only to be accepted when in person for same bank.

You answer the questions as asked. If they're asking what your employment status is, you need to answer it truthfully. If you're not employed, you're not employed.
Ask yourself this, if the employee was so sure that you were going to do was legit, why did he not push the application through himself?0 -

What makes you think they have changed ?For a lot of loan situations, in fact it WAS required - I suspect there is very little evidence that proves anyone in fact did this, just the usual CMC lies. In another lot of loan situations, it was the case it might increase the chance of getting a loan.Funny though, customers committed fraud for years, peddling the lie they were told there was a requirement to take a PPI policy with a loan, when in fact it never happened at all. Many more lied about even having a policy and demanded a refund for something they never had. Wonder how many customers will be prosecuted for fraud? Oh yes, 0 as the FOS naively believe people were "mistaken". I wonder if the bank staff were similarly "mistaken"? Or is it just bank = bad, customer = good?
