We are traveling to Portugal in 10 days time. I know that we need an RT-PCR test to get in BUT, do we also need to have a lateral flow test done as well?
All the government details I can find say you must have a LFD to leave the country and one to get back in, but surely if I am in possession of a better test (PCR) that would make it unnecessary (and less expensive) to have to have an LFD as well.
We're flying Ryanair but can't get an answer from them on this.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

No you need a PCR to get into Portugal. (Madeira is different don’t get confused) the you need a lat flow test to return to uk. You must also book a ‘day 2’ test for when you get back.0
