Problem with Wickes

I have recently had a designer from Wickes come and measure up my small utility room. The cupboards and larder unit was ordered and delivered. When my fitter installed the larder unit it was too big and had to cut some of the back of larder unit to get it to fit. So the end panel is now too big to fit ( which came separately). I have had numerous calls to the store Wickes and eventually they were said they would give me a refund but i would have to take it back to store myself. I don’t have a car anymore so i am struggling to get it to store and it’s such a huge piece I don’t think it would go in a normal sized car. Wickes won’t collect stating it is part of the unit - even though it is priced separately on my invoice ( so why is priced separately if it comes as part of the unit the hinges aren’t priced separately) i spoke to Head office and what a farce that was! The first person i spoke to said ‘no problem we can collect, but i need to speak to store first to make sure the refund has been given and we will contact you before 12pm tomorrow ’ Fair enough i thought. No one contacted me the next day so I rang and first customer adviser i spoke to said they could collect but it would cost me £95.00 that because the cost of the unit was under £95.00 they couldn’t collect it. I explain that on my invoice i have paid £134.63 and so i have paid more than the £95.00. So why can’t it be collected? He suggested they couldn’t and maybe i could hire a van and take it to store! He also informed that the the refund would be for £65.00 I asked why when i had paid £ 134.63 for the unit. After lengthy discussion the customer adviser went quiet on me and would speak to me for quite some time,so i hung up. I rang again and this time the customer adviser said that the unit cost £ 65.00 - i read out the invoice of unit price £254.00 with reduction =£134.63 he said that maybe there were other parts to it, I said ‘no other parts its just a big part which doesn’t fit’ He then suggested i have got the wrong item. I gave him the item no and he said he had found it on the system and agreed unit price was £254 but this wasn’t what he was talking about. So I queried what is this item that has cost me £134.63? He couldn’t answer and suggested i spoke to the Store manager tomorrow to see if the store will pay for the collection of the item- which I’m not understanding as it was first stated Wickes would pay for the collection not store if the item was over £95.00. I have only had 2 cupboards and a larder unit for my small utility room from wickes with an very large end panel which doesn’t fit and i was charged £134.63 for it. Going round in circles !! I did ask to speak to a manager at Head office but they said ‘no’ as they don’t give out numbers for managers? Can anyone explain this? Or any of it !! Please help me with my rights and solve this I can’t afford to lose £134.63. Thank you I hope i have written this is clear. Regards Annoyed Wickes (ex) customer

Perhaps cutting out all the story telling info?
And only posting relevant facts with paragraphs would help people read it and give you advice. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
