Test requirements if a traffic lights changes from amber to green while I'm in a country?

Of course they are. However that has nothing to do with this particular point, which is that travel insurance, by and large, is based around FCO advice NOT the Govt traffic light advice. If the FCO advice is not to travel to somewhere unless essential (which it is to most countries) then most travel insurances won’t be valid.eskbanker said:
That's not a particularly accurate characterisation - the traffic light system for arriving into the UK is the responsibility of the Department for Transport, while the detailed advice for travelling from the UK to other countries is managed (separately) by the FCDO, but both of them are obviously arms of the government!jimi_man said:You’re confusing Govt advice with FCO adviceIf however a place doesn’t have the FCO ‘no travel unless essential’, but it is an Amber country then whilst technically you are advised not to go, your travel
insurance would still be valid. This is the case with places like Corfu and Rhodes for example.I hope that explains it. It’s an easy thing to misunderstand so I don’t blame people for not grasping it straight away. The traffic light scheme and the FCO are looking at slightly different risks hence why they are not always aligned.0
