Hi
I requested a CCA from Tesco and they are now saying they need a signature to look into my data. Any tips on how to go about this because I have read not to give them signatures which they can then copy onto requests. Help!

I wouldn’t be signing a form. You don’t need to sign a CCA request your name is certainly fine.
They should be able to validate you without a signature.
If they didn’t believe you were who you said you were then they shouldn’t be sending post to your address to begin with.
If you reply stating you don’t need to give a signature for the request and as such they clearly believe you are who you say you are as they’ve been sending sensitive information to your address .
Most likely they’ll send it if they have it0 -

Whatever your reasons for or against signature, the idea that a mainstream lender would intentionally forge documents by copy/pasting your signature onto old paperwork is laughable. Trying to get you to pay a few hundred quid vs the millions in fines they would get from such behaviour is nonsensical - you easy put a fake signature on the form and if that appears on the CCA you'd know instantly they did this hence why it wouldn't happen.

Some bottom feeder DCA`s were accused of this practice, many years ago, but as a copy agreement requested under sec 77/79 CCA does not need to be signed to be valid, it renders your point a mute one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
