Drip-feeding may reduce your investment returns, if you're buying during a time of rising markets - on average there are more up days than down days but it certainly shouldn't be presented as a universal truth....steampowered said:Drip feeding reduces your investment returns, since you miss out on investment growth and dividends for the time you are not in the market.3 -
I have bits in 20, 60, 80, and 100. I was thinking of keeping 20 and 100 only to balance the risk and have 2 pots. I could access the 20 earlier or will be less likely to lose on it in case I need extra for emergency. 100 can stay longer term untouched, and hopefully grow, and I will reassess it in 10 years or so.Deleted_User said:However, it is still at a higher risk level than many people can stand; that is, the risk of large losses (maybe something like 50%), and it that it may take many years to recover, and the mood around shares may be that it feels like it might never recover, ...Because of this risk, I think, for many people, there's a good case for dialling it down at least from VLS100 to VLS80. Though you said you have multiple VLS funds already, so in effect you may already be there.0
