This sounds (from the descriptions in your post)  like you have Dimplex Quantum storage heaters - is that correct? How are they wired in - is there one switch, or two, adjacent to the heaters? What is the position of each of those switches - on or off?

If your electricity is on a standard single rate tariff then there is every chance that the circuit that allows the NSH’s to charge is just never being energised. Can you take a photograph of your meter clearly showing the cables leaving it at the bottom - block out the meter number but leave the model details showing please - and post that into the thread? Or failing that, can you tell us the model details for the meter, and also give us a run-down of the cable layout at the base - are there 4 or 5 cables, what colours are they, are they all the same size and are there any tags on them saying things like “NNN” or “LLL” ? (You are probably still too new to the forum to post photos, so the descriptions might have to do the work).

NSH’s and economy 7 electricity can be a very steep learning curve, but it can also be a very economical way to heat a property, so don’t despair too much!

ok so I changed my supplier so that I could have Eco 7 Dual Tariff  and 2 moths in I still hadn't had a proper bill but when I  did I realised there was a problem as I had a massive bill  which was more than my weekly income. Turns out  electric company hadn't  set up the tariffs correctly  and my storage heaters where using my day time tariff not the overnight one so I had a very large bill.  They have admitted that they made a mistake and it would take about a week to sort but it is now 2 weeks and  I haven't been using the heaters as I was worried about the cost. I still haven't been told if it is  set up correct now  or not nor whether they will refund me the extra cost I paid  or not,  though they have  offered me compensation for my complaint and stress it caused.  Really not sure what I need to do next
