Switching from Scottish Power I see from my account with them the switch date is December 31st 2017! How incompetent can they get?

They are a big supplier. part of a very big group, yet mind-bendingly awful at administering accounts. The only good things I have noticed with them are the freephone number customer service on customer services, which you will be using a lot, and a hardship fund, the need for which is increased by their own erratic billing. I'm now at 53 weeks after leaving and still no final bill, despite them calling 3 weeks ago and then a week later, setting a final balance but with no bill explain it.

And yet I switched away from them at the end of March, from dual fuel with them to two different suppliers, completely smoothly, with an accurate final bill based on smart meter readings, balance taken by direct debit on the appointed date. In forums such as this one, you only read about the problems. Now all I need is an opening bill from my new gas supplier, SSE.0
