Confirmation form C5

My mother died at the weekend. She had simplified her financial affairs a while ago so I was hoping to only complete forms C1 & C5 for an excepted estate and have just had a look at the forms to see what it entails. All looked OK until form C5.
Form C5 question 8 asks: Did the deceased: receive benefits from an alternatively secured pension fund as the original scheme member? If yes then complete IHT400 instead.
Does this relate to her USS monthly pension?
Thank you.

Happy to confirm that USS isn't an 'alternatively secured pension fund'. If that was her only (non-state) pension, the answer is 'no'. Even if she has other pensions, they are unlikely to be these strange little animals (now defunct) known as ASPs.Gers said:My mother died at the weekend. That's brilliant, many thanks. The USS pension was her only other pension apart from her SP.
Thanks again.1
