Was the assistant rude?

one question on the subject of talking to other ppl while serving a customer, When I worked in a lighting department of a big department store at christmas it use to get really really busy. We had a new computer ordering system put in and I was the technical person on the department so I used to get about a million questions asked at me on a saturday. Quite often as recipts were printing and I was doing things on the tills I would answer other ppls question and or problems with the computers or technical question with lights. I never thought it was rude because I was having to do that just to keep up with everything and I also felt that I was not ignoring my customer while still answering questions. What do any of you think?
Do you think it was rude of me to try and do 5 different things at once?JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
It depends on whether you also acknowledged the customer as well?
In the past I have signed all sorts of names on credit card receipts simply because the server have been too busy talking. I always wondered whether or not I should claim the ones signed 'Daffy duck', 'Donald Duck', 'Mickey Mouse', '**** off' were not purchases made by me????

No way, don't believe you, thats outrageous! What sorts of assistants were they- really dizzy ones!:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
Ones that didn't even have the courtesy to interrupt their conversation to say 'hello, how can I help you'. Strangely enough each and every time it has been at our Tescos petrol station. I still have some of the receipt copies (before it went all electronic) - just to remind me of the goo dold days.trace-j wrote:No way, don't believe you, thats outrageous!
