Vanguard Security - How secured?

When opening the account, I was shocked to find Vanguard doesn't have any sophisticated or even medium complex security measurements in place. Any usual bank accounts would require at least a complex password combination. Some require digital code or two steps verification. But Vanguard has none of those. Even the password can't contain special characters.
I can't comprehend how they could get away from these simplest security.
Am I worrying unreasonably?

Never noticed the password piece, I used an auto generated one but regardless I have no concerns.
They do a soft check to confirm your identity at the start based on your details. They also only pay out to the account you pay in with so no risk in losing cash. They do have two step verification in place, try changing any details and you will immediatley be requested to confirm with a code.2 -
I think if you attempt to withdraw money they text to your mobile a one off code that you need to proceed
