My old Dyson vacuum cleaner is on its last legs so I am looking for a replacement. Ideally not too expensive with good battery life. My home has carpet upstairs and lvt flooring downstairs. Recommendations please

Whilst I do think Dysons are well overpriced for what they are as you're specifically looking at cordless then their cordless models always seem to come out on top in terms of performance. Look at their well overpriced V11 model range.2

Cheaper alternatives would be Vax or Shark.
Personally I much prefer my corded Shark Duoclean upright.1 -
Anyone got any recommendations please? I thought vacuum cleaners were a popular topic of debate!0

If it's economy you're after I highly recommend a silicone broom (£7 from Wilko). Gathers dust brilliantly from LVT and means you can get away with a vacuum cleaner lesser than a Dyson. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Gtech are supposed to be more affordable and reliable https://www.gtech.co.uk/cordless-vacuum-cleaners.html

My sister got a gtech, she's happy with it. I got a dyson [with a discount] and I'm happy with that. Mine goes from carpet to hard floor with no difference in settings. I'm happy with the suction set to the middle although I could go higher or lower and that would obviously affect the battery life, but since I've had it, I've hoovered more regularly than I used to with the big old heavy thing we used [and still have] before. It's just easier to use. But that's my experience. I'm comparing the current cordless to the corded and it's it's coming up brilliantly but if I were used to having a cordless I might say something different.

"Which?" ResultsAt the present time there is a list of 37 Best Buys and 27 Don't Buys. The highest scoring Best Buys are quite expensive - £500+.There are 14 lower scoring Best Buys under £300. Of these 14 I have listed below the three with the highest scores (hope you are managing to follow this
).
Bosch Athlet Ultimate BCH732KTGB, score 80%, price £259.97
Beko PowerClean VRT94929VI, score 80%, price £279.00
Dyson V8 Animal, score 78%, price £299
How reliable are they, well that's another story.Gtech - they've never figured in the Best Buys yet, but who knows what will come up in the future as, obviously, the list of Best Buys changes with the times.1
