Is "Cheap Energy Club" dead?
It's just a few days till my annual energy switch. Yesterday morning, I wanted to try the MSE Cheap Energy Club here:
The site is currently broken.
24 hours ago, I sent an email, followed by a follow-up reminder to the "Contact Us" address here:
energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com
I got no replies to any of these emails.
MSE automated replies usually take only a few seconds. So I'm guessing the site must be dead.
Any advice? The clock is ticking :-)
Thanks.
Best regards,
EricM

Fair comment. However, the advantages IMO are:- Click-and-forget.- They claim to scan the ENTIRE field, whereas I only normally do the 3 main comparison sites. That takes half a day, including the form-filling.
BTW: In my OP, I should probably have asked "Any advice about how to contact MSE, when email contact fails?" Has anyone else ever had to do that?Thanks.0 -
Working fine for me
Use the CAB and the which sites.
Half a day to fill in forms? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
Working fine here also.0

You need to do the usual things when sites don't work - alternate browsers, new profiles, disable extensions etc - as it works fine here. Also it does not take "half a day" to compare energy at all, unless you literally hen-peck at the keyboard on one finger. Last time I did a comparison run I made some tea, went through four sites, found a deal, signed up, job done and the cup was still hot.1 -
MSE CEC is broken, but not in the way you're thinking.Despite its claims, it doesn't always show all suppliers. For many months it refused to show anything at all about Neon Reef, claiming that they hadn't told them about its tariffs. That may have been true, but it doesn't justify making false claims. And as many people have discovered, it often won't show you a cheaper tariff from your existing supplier, e.g. if that's Avro. It's easily demonstrated if you tell the site that you're with someone else, then the hidden results will then magically appear.Just check with Citizens Advice and 'Which? Switch' instead.0
