Confused.com have issued a notice to users that ownership of the company has changed to ZPG, who is turn are also the owners of Uswitch and Money.co.uk (they include Zoopla in their stable as well).

With the consolidation of ownership the value to consumer of these sites becomes questionable when there is no longer indendence between them. Someone may browse all three sites looking for compariative quotes from an Energy, Broadband or Insurance provider and assume that a specific offer is the best because it appears the same on three quote comparison sites, when in reality it is exactly the same offer and unlikely to be different across the three platforms as they are the in reality the same company, with different colour schemes.

Is there a handy list of the sites which are truly independent from each other?
