Strange that it is taking so long. MrsM hit SRA early Feb, received application letter early last Oct and had payment dates and amounts by the end of Oct. Did they say what "pending" meant and why it was taking so long ?

I applied 3 March for state pension due to start mid-April.https://www.gov.uk/new-state-pension/how-to-claim
How to claim
You will not get your new State Pension automatically - you have to claim it. You should get a letter no later than 2 months before you reach State Pension age, telling you what to do.
If you have not received an invitation letter, but you are within 4 months of reaching your State Pension age you can still make a claim.
Possibly the delay for Robert results from late claim?

I can't see how a "late" application a couple of months before due date should cause a delay. From experience the process only takes 2 to 3 weeks max.

MrsP had her invitation in April (reaches 66 in August). Accepted the invitation using the online process. Letter a week later with payment info - we were impressed if a little surprised!0
