Hi All,
Just after some advice, I left my old company 4 months ago due to be treated unfairly, I left on bad terms as I realised they was setting me up to make me look a fool.
I think they may be trying to sue me for negligence in the work place.

How successful could they be??.
I realised what they was doing and left ASAP, it’s been 4 months now but I’ve heard nothing from them, no court letters ect ect.

You would need to share much more information than that for anyone to give helpful comments.
For an employer to claim negligence against an employee is difficult because vicarious liability often applies and the employee can turn things around on matters such as training, company processes etc.2 -
If nothing too bad happened and they were as unhappy with you as you are with them, I would suspect they consider the matter closed. They may have been applying pressure to get this result. I hope that things work out better for you in future.2

There's a bit more info on their older threadhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6224064/employer-problems/p1
OP you're out of that place, what makes you now think they will sue you? They probably just wanted to manage you out and get on with their business when you left.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Depends on how badly you performed and what opportunity you have to put it back on them for not giving proper training etc... I havent read the other thread to get the background.englewood said:How successful could they be??.

Contract law allows 6 years for claims to be made so 4 months is a relatively short time however cases of employers suing rank and file employees are rare and its generally just a case of getting them out the company to limit the damage.0 -
It’s long story but I had a moan in the work place and obviously it was taken lightly.
I’ve had full training from the company’s that the equipment is supplied from but from the actual company itself the training was relatively poor, they had no in house training schedule or tests.
They basically set up problems I couldn’t fix and are going to blame me.
They have even tried to get me beat up but I’m more aware of what they are trying to do, also they have been contacting recruiters to setup false interviews.
But like I’ve said I’ve heard nothing from the courts and I never want to deal with such a unprofessional company ever again.0 -
It was comments they was saying before I left the company about being homeless and I assumed that they was going to sue me, then I will loose my home and assets , if the fine is a massive sum!.MovingForwards said:There's a bit more info on their older threadhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6224064/employer-problems/p1

SO you are saying they would take you to court and win? In your other thread you said you hadn't done anything, but now you think you might actually lose if they do take you to court?englewood said:

Well it’s me against them so I assume they will all turn against me and make up false allegations.I know, I have to some extent.1

Don't worry, I worked for tools back in January and the only job this year that has made my cry, who were trying to pursue me for a rental I never took out (not least from them) in March - they sent texts with it getting as far as an actual formal debt collecting letter - someone in the office was having a right laugh after hours. But they weren't so big in the end.
Soon stopped when I contacted them asking genuinely if it was smishing, as believed along with experience of other ex employees, I would be blacklisted as soon as gone, nope, they had the front to try and say oh it was because I had been allowed to set up a practise account. Sadly I ripped up the letter but don't half wish I'd been more sensible and forwarded it to their regulator to deal with.
To the day they pop me in the ground or I'm burnt, I'll always believe that they were up to no good with the ex. employer to begin with.1
