Morning all, the sun is shining at present but watch this space as it's very unpredictable. Yesterday we had black skies and loud thunder without any rain, strange weather patterns nowadays.I managed to finish all yesterday's tasks and then made a new baby card for my over the road neighbours. They have had another boy and as I didn't seem to have much in the baby boy craft dept ( plenty for a baby girl ) a bit of scrabbling and heavy duty thinking occurred. On the way back from posting the card I met another neighbour and got all the local gossip and then the new Dad arrived and we both had a blow by blow account of the complicated birth 🤢Today I need to empty the DW and do some dusting and hoovering, that should keep me busy until school pick up time. Then it's all back here for tea and cake, first time since last September I think.I hope everyone enjoys their shopping expeditions.dp1 hope little one is ok asap.Gers thinking of you and sending copious hugs.Take care all. Healing vibes winging their way to all the poorly people and their family members.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently16

Hi everyone,
Gers, take things gently, I'm glad you have good friends around you.
AOD, happy birthday for yesterday, I was back too late to post.
Esben was on good form yesterday, we did lots of singing. He does a very creditable Baa, baa, black sheep, keeping to the tune and timing, he can even say the words to the first two lines, after that it's made up words but for 18 months I think he's doing very well. He also really enjoyed clapping his hands, stamping his feet and shouting hooray to If you're happy and you know it and the actions to wheels on the bus. When we left he waved and shouted bye......to his mum and dad, he wanted to come with us. One of these days he'll be able to come and spend the night.
Today will be cleaning while Steve plays golf and a bit of sewing. We are off on a jaunt again tomorrow, taking the camper van to be serviced and then continuing to Steve's sister's where we will be spending the night. It feels very strange to be thinking about doing that. We saw on the news that we can't go into Bedford, it's only 8 miles away but a different LA. I can't remember the last time I went and even then it was just to a shop on the outskirts, I don't think I've been into the town for a couple of years. It must be like a ghost town now, when we first moved here there was a Woolllies, M&S, C&A, BHS and a Debenhams, they have all closed down now, even the M&S.16 -
Good morning all. Horribly dull looking here and threatening to rain.
We have an unexpected free day today as DGS is poorly so will stay at home. Thought of going to the garden centre for a browse and maybe some lunch. Better not eat too much as I have a beef short rib to go in the slow cooker for tonight. Think we're still on winter type meals plus the heating is still on.
Other than that I have over 100 knitted squares here that I need to package up and send to a Charity that will make them into blankets. I can't find any of my usual knitting wool in the shops so can't start any more at the moment. And I suppose there's always housework!
Have a good day everyone.12 -
Morning everyone, raining again! Our heating is still on too, early morning and evening.Snoozer, we've been told not to go out of town again, getting really fed up now, yet some postcodes have very few cases, rife in others.Worried about our trip to the Lakes in 2 weeks now.Yesterday we managed to move the flights to next year for DN wedding, took about an hour, 3 times the chap submitted the request & the seats he'd chosen had gone. In the end I said we're not bothered where we sit as long as the DGC have 1 of us next to them. Cost another £800 though
What with that & the car going in to be fixed today at long last we need a bit of belt tightening this month.Still we haven't spent as much over the last year...
Unexpected visit from DGD yesterday after school,DS had to pick her up as her other Nan was called into work. She wanted tinned ravioli on toast for tea, not something I usually keep in, but she's asked a few times before and I havent had it. Better get another tin in.We had a chicken traybake which was very tasty, using quite a bit of veg that needed eating, I can order my new box now.
Gers you sound like you are getting everything sorted, hope you get some fresh air xCsarina, DH put his foot through one of our sheets recentlyHope you all have the best day you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all.
AOD - belated Happy Birthday.
Gers - thinking of you.
Feel full of cold plus I have a yucky cold sore - was going to collect a wooden yarn bowl that was being turned locally today but chap has to go out this morning. We can't collect this afternoon as the surveyor is coming after cancelling on Friday.
Plan to do some sewing later on.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hello, tail end Charlie here again. Earlyish this morning I saw a blog post with photos of the wonderful array of Rhododendrons at an English Heritage property about 45 minutes from here, I was flabbergasted when OH agreed that we make a quick picnic lunch and head off after breakfast, dog walking etc. (OH is not one for spontaneity) Blue sky and sunshine all day, far reaching views, lovely blowsy flowers. Stopped off at a farm shop close by and for the second Tuesday running we had tea and cake out. Back home and a couple of hours spent gardening, now chilling watching Bob Ross paint some happy little trees.
I hope that all have had a good day, Gers thinking of you and all that you need to do, try and pace yourself if you can. Hugs to anyone as needed.

Just checking in to send love to Gers.
Had a nice day yesterday, did nothing of any consequence and it rained on and off all day, hoping for drying weather towards the end of the week.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back8
