'Minor' Car Accident - my fault
Hi,
Unfortuantley I hit a parked cars bumper the other day. I just wondered if anyone could give me advice if to settle via a quote he has received from a garage or go let them go through an insurance claim. The garage quote to repair is £295. Apparently this is the lowest quote after obtaining 4 quotes.
Touchwood, it is the only accidnet i have had ion over 10 years. My current insurance costs £210 per annum. If a claim went through how much would this increase by? My car is a 10 year old Focus.
Kind regards,
James

Assuming you do not need to pay for any damage to your car as well, pay them the £295 as full and final settlement and walk away. It really is not worth the hassle of involving the insurance on this.JamesC3 said:

There was a recent thread that discussed paying rather than insurance for a small bump, it may be interesting:
