Morning, hugs if you need one, especially Gers......
Its a bright morning, DB tells me its to rain at lunchtime so I have bed linen in the washer, will hang it out shortly. I am also reliably informed that by next week we will be sweltering in 20c temperatures, roll on!!
Cleaner due this morning, so need to get my act together.
I did get one of the pockets for the book pillows embroidered, have 2 more to do. Once they are done I can put the pillows together. Then its back to the quilt for Little Miss.
I need to take the meat from yesterday off the bone, I will use the carving fork, no more slashed fingers for me!! So we will have lamb with something for supper tonight, rhubarb crumble for dessert with custard.11 -
Morning all,Nice at the moment, not sure how long for.Gers, glad to hear Ursula's passing was peaceful and surrounded with love by you and her friend. Take care of yourself , and how nice of Camelot to come and see you too , lovely people on this thread xDH started painting the hall yesterday, long needed what with slobbery dogs, DGC etc. He's put all the photos back but I think it needs another coat!I'm another who didn't have the best sleep- I heard some noises in the night, might have been the neighbours( not the young ones either!), as when I let pooch out for her last wee I could hear next door had visitors, some were smoking outside and obviously worse for wear - unusual for them though so I'll let them off
We have another call to Notsoeasyjet to make today .We have to cancel our flights to Greece on Saturday and try to get them for next year, for DNiece's rearranged wedding,it won't let me do it online even though it tells you to.We made 2 calls last week with no joy getting a refund even though Boris is telling us not to go to Greece, as they will accept GB visitors. It mounts up to a lot of money as both DS, DGC and us were booked on
Hugs to those who need one x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)16 -

Good morning,
Sunny and dry at 7am for all of 10 minutes, since then more showers and brief respites of sun.
More clothes sorting on the cards for today, this will make 3 days running, lots of trying on and posing in front of the mirror LOL. Hopefully will don waterproof coat and boots and take a bagful to the CS, I could load it all into the car, but I need to get some exercise in and walking both ways will work out at about 5,000+ steps.
Gers I am so pleased that you and Ursula's dear friend were with her, I hope that you are getting some sleep, it must be hard after your long spell of broken sleep patterns, hugs, take care.
Easy supper planned of Kedgeree with a side salad for later, I might try and make something with noodles for lunch, need fairly bland food ATM, some cooked chicken to be eaten up, OH will probably have his standard lunch of cheese and crackers.
Hugs to all that need some. stay dry, stay safe (good news re: vaccinations being effective against the new Covid19 strain. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)15 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Today is my 70th birthday, OH has made me a bacon sandwich for a breakfast treat, with orange juice, delicious, and when DS emerges I have some cards to open and so forth. My replacement birdtable has just arrived, excellent timing.
Gers you are never far from my thoughts, how lovely that Camelot was able to come and see you. We will all be thinking of you.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -

Gers Sounds like your mum went in a way most of us would choose ...surrounded by loved ones. Try to breathe lots over the next few days. Lots to organise of course but hopefully you can delegate some jobs to your friends. Its important you look after yourself now 😍
Camelot how lovely a friend you are
Nothing much to report here just the usual wash Monday. Weather is dire again but it seems the sun is on its way so start to look out your itsy bitsy polka dot bikinis ready for the spa reopening...think we all need it.
Food wise Im still doing easy where possible... yesterday was my fav Sloppy Guisepe pizza and today is a definitely not made from scratch lasagne.
Hugs to all12
