Pay in a Cheque Online From Desktop

Hi, is there a way to pay in a cheques to your online account from your desktop? I have Halifax and Santander current accounts and everything I have Googled gives instructions on how to do it from a mobile phone app. I do not use my phone for banking and do not have any bank apps installed, nor do want one. Any help would be appreciated.

You can only do it through the apps where offered. Santander UK does not offer it at all. Halifax does ( maximum £1000 per cheque and £2000 per day)

If you've got a smartphone then installing a bank's app is straightforward (unless it's an ancient model).

If you don't like apps you don't need to use it very often if you don't want to, just use it for cheque pay-in.  You could even uninstall it after paying in a cheque.

I'm not a great fan of bank apps myself, but they are convenient. And, security-wise, they are, generally speaking, better than a bank's website.
